Tweed Topper Jacket Crochet Pattern

Crocheted Topper :This pattern contains directions to crochet the vintage 1950s Topper shown above. Proof that the bulk jacket need not add pounds; a becoming topper for sizes 40 to 46. Tweed effect created from two distinctly different yarns. Directions are for bust size 40, with changes for 42, 44 and 46 shown in parentheses.

MATERIALS: 

• Spinnerin Marvel Twist, 9 (9-10-10) 4-oz. skeins gray, main color (MC); Spinnerin Candour-Glo, 5 (5-6-6) 3-oz. skeins pink, contrasting color (CC). 
• Steel crochet hook No. O. 

GAUGE: 5 pats=2"; 7 rows=2" (l strand MC). 4 pats=2"; 6 rows=2" (l strand each of MC and CC).
