Description

Crocheted Square:  This crocheted square can be made either of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. When joined together the squares form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs, pillows and other household articles.   Crochet this square at 5 or 6-1/2 inches.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 2361 in 1939. The pattern was later marketed by The American Weekly.

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 9 steel crochet hook, or No. 50-Mercerized Crochet Cotton in (150 yard) balls and a No. 10 steel crochet hook.  Each square requires approximately 60 yards of heavy cotton or 42 yards of fine cotton.
