Ladies Belted Vest Crochet Pattern Martha Madison 1118

Ladies Belted Vest: This pattern gives directions for crocheting the vest pictured. The official description: Pretty afghan blocks join to form a one button vest; sc easy to make, and to wear: Just stack the required number of blocks & then whip them together as shown on Chart for the chosen size. This is a Mail Order Pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  This pattern was marketed as Martha Madison 1118. 

Material: The new lightweight 4-ply Yarn comes in orlon or wool worsted, in big 4-ounce skeins;    Use #1 steel crochet hook and work evenly, sc all blocks will be of the same size (4-inches square).   For Size 1: (32-34-36) you will need make 24 of the afghan blocks. This will take about 6 ounces of White yarn, 3 ounces of Pink (or other floral color), and 2 ounces of Leaf Green.   For Size II (38-40-42) you will need to make 28 blocks. This will require about 7 ounces of -White yarn, 4ounces of the Floral Color, and 3 ounces of Green.   For Size III (44-46-48) you will need to make 32 blocks.
