Description

Bat Wing Sports Jacket : This pattern contains instructions for knitting the jacket pictured. This 1950's design is billed, and certainly fits the bill, as a Sports Jacket. Worked in Knitting Worsted, the just past waist length, it features long bat wing sleeves, with color bands that match those on the cuffs as well as the border on the front slash pockets and neck band. The jacket closes with a front slide zipper. This design is misses size 12, with changes for 14, 16 and 18 in parentheses.

Materials

  • Germantown Knitting Worsted (2-oz, skein) : 4 (5, 5, 6) sks, of Brown (A ), 1 sk. each of Coral (B ) and Turquoise (C)
  • Hero No. 3 and No. 5 knitting needles.
  • Jacket style slide fastener.
  • 2 buttons.

GAUGE: 11 sts = 2"; 7 rows = 1".

Finished Knitted Measurements at Bust: Closed-34 ½ (36 ½, 38 ½, 41)".
