Filet Crocheted Doilies:  These two filet crocheted doilies can be made of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton pr of No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. They can be used as buffet and luncheon sets or as odd doilies.  Featuring a lively butterfly motif, the large doily may be 18 x 24 or 12 x 16.  The small doilies are 13 x 13 or 9 x 9. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  This pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 2964 in 1941.  "These filet crocheted doilies made from easy to follow Laura Wheeler charts serve as luncheon and buffet sets.  The simplicity of  the design make them easy to crochet.

Materials: 

• Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 7 steel crochet hook, 
• or No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton in (125 yard) balls and a No. 12 steel crochet hook.

 Two (500 yard) skeins of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton will make 1 large or 3 small doilies Or five (125 yard) balls of No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton will make 1 large or 3 small doilies.
