Crocheted Cloche Handbag with Popcorn Bands

Round Hat and Bag : This pattern contains directions for crochet the accessories shown. This pattern set is vintage 1950, where it appeared in McCalls Needlecraft as promotion to Hiawatha Bellastraw yarns. The official description : "A “little girl” cloche, with companion drawstring bag is crocheted in straw yarn and fat popcorns are grouped in merry-go-round fashion as a trim. Every in-the-know young thing will want one in a bright color. Round and round crochet, reeled off in no time". The size of the bag is 6 ½" high, with a 5" base. The head size of the hat is adjustable.

Materials:

• Hiawatha Belastraw, 6-Ply, Art. 35, 3 tubes.
• Plastic crochet hook No. 4.
• 1 ½ yds. of 3/4" grosgrain ribbon;
• 4 yd. 36-in. felt for lining.

Gauge: 6 sc=2"; 8 rows=2".
