This is a Mail Order pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs. The pattern was marketed as E-883 by Needlework Bureau, under the name of Ellen Bruce. The newspaper description: "This beautiful scarf for chest or dresser is crocheted in an attractive flower and fan design".
Material:
- About 500 yards #20 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. Use a #9 steel crochet hook. With this size hook & thread, the piece will measure about 13" x 33", after blocking.
- If a smaller scarf is desired, use #30 crochet cotton; if larger, use #10 -- or knit-crochet, such as is used for making bedspreads.
