Crochet Beret Hat Bag Pattern, National Needlecraft PC 4838

Hat and Bag No P.C. 4838 :  This pattern contains directions to crochet both the hat and bag pictured.   The head is beret style, with a rolled band effect along the sides. The lined coordinating bag, with rounded front flap and zipper closure features trim and a small crocheted handle (not shown).   This pattern set is vintage 1940s; it was a mail order pattern No P.C. 4838 from The National Needlecraft Bureau.

Materials: 

• Chadwick'sRed Heart Sock and Sweater Yarn, 3 Ply, 6 balls (1 oz.balls)of Black.
• Clark'sO.N.T.PlasticCrochet Hook No.5. 
• 1 spool of gold thread.
• 1/4yard of black felt for lining. 
• 5 1/2 inch Crown Zipper.
• Apiece of buckram.

GAUGE: 5 sc make 1 inch; 5 rows make l inch.
