Crocheted Square:  This crocheted square worked in the pineapple design can be made either of No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton or of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton. When joined together the squares form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs, pillows and other household articles.   The square may be crocheted at 7-1/2 or 12 inches.  

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  This pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 509.  "Dress up your dining room or guest room with this crocheted cloth or spread in the favorite pineapple design.   • No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 12 steel crochet hook
  • or Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a No. 10 steel crochet hook.
  • Each square requires approximately 110 yards of fine cotton or 165 yards of heavy cotton.
