Ripple Afghan Pattern for Knit & Crochet

Ripple Afghans : This pattern gives directions to crochet both of the afghans shown. These two pieces are the same in design but one is knit (pictured in green), and one is crocheted (pictured in brown). Both are very easy to make, the instructions are super simple. These patterns are vintage 1939 designs from the Spool Cotton Company.

Knit Materials:

• CHADWICK'S RED HEART AFGHAN WOOL, 27 skeins (1 oz. skeins) of Antique Green, and 9 skeins each of Lichen Green, Old Gold, Golden Fleece and White.
• MILWARD'S PHANTOM KNITTING PINS, 1 pair No.6 (4 ¼ mm. size).

GAUGE: 6 sts make 1 inch; 10 rows make 1 inch.

Crochet Materials:

• CHADWICK'S RED HEART AFGHAN WOOL, 39 skeins (¾ oz. skeins) of Shaded Browns, and 27 skeins (1 oz. skeins) of Antique Brown.
• MILWARD'S STEEL CROCHET HOOK No. 2/0 (double zero).

GAUGE: Each chevron measures about 10 inches between points.
