Oval Crochet Runner Mats Design 2992

CROCHETED DOILIES;  These oval doilies can be made either of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 30 Crochet Cotton. The choice of the cotton governs the size and texture of the doilies. They can be used to form luncheon sets or they can be used as odd doilies.  The large doily runner measures 16 x 32 or 12 x 20 inches.  The doily mats are 11 x 18 or 8 x 12 inches.  

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 2992 in 1941.  

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 7 steel crochet hook or No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 10 steel crochet hook;   The large doily requires approximately 455 yards of heavy cotton or 300 yards of fine cotton;   The small doily requires approximately 200 yards of heavy cotton or 134 yards of fine cotton.
