Knitted Shell Pattern with Flower Embroidery No 5123

Flower Embroidered Shell: This pattern gives directions to knit, crochet detail the sleeveless pullover pictured. It's a cute top, knit in stockinette, with crocheted lacy edges at the bottom, neck and shoulders. There is a back neck button closure. After knitting, the (optional) embroidered flowers are added, using included template. The pattern is written for misses size 12, with changes for 14, 16, 18 and 20 in parentheses.

This is a Mail Order pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs.. The pattern was marketed as Anne Cabot (and Kate Marchbanks) 5123.  The pattern was included in the 1968 Anne Cabot Needlework Album.

Materials:   REYNOLD'S ENCORE (100% virgin wool) 28-gram balls: 4 (4, 5, 5, 6, 6) Skeins of White; 1 Skein each of Yellow and Green for Embroidery;   Needles: Straight Knitting Needles #7 Aluminum Crochet Hook #G;   6 Pearl Buttons
