Description

Knitted Square:  This pattern contains directions for making a knitted bedspread of squares which are joined together. Use either Rug Cotton or Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton.  Raised leaf motif in a diamond shape surround a petite flower. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 7197 in 1966.   It was also marketed under the Laura Wheeler brand. 

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS AND SIZES: Single Size Bedspread requires 59 (70 yd.) balls of Rug Cotton or 97 (175 yd.) balls of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a pair of No. 8 Bone (American) or No. 5 Bone (English) Knitting Needles. Double Size Bedspread requires 68 (70 yd.) balls of Rug Cotton or 116 (175 yd.) balls of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a pair of No. 8 Bone (American) or No. 5 Bone (English) Knitting Needles. Each square requires approximately 25 yds. of Rug Cotton or 100 yds. of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton.
