Filet Crochet Horse Head Pillow No 1865

Filet Crochet Pillow Top:  This pattern gives directions to crochet the pillow top pictured.   The horse, a lovely motif, is topped by a horseshoe garland of roses.  The finished top measures either 17 or 20 inches, depending upon materials used. 

This is a Mail Order pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Peggy Roberts 1865 in 1942

FOR PILLOW TOP, APPROXIMATELY 20 INCHES SQUARE, 3 BALLS OF 6-CORD MERCERIZED CROCHET COTTON SIZE 20 (300 YDS TO EACH BALL); STEEL CROCHET HOOK, NO. 11.

FOR PILLOW TOP, APPROXIMATELY 17 INCHES SQUARE, 2 BALLS OF 6-CORD MERCERIZED CROCHET COTTON SIZE 30 (400 YDS TO EACH BALL); STEEL CROCHET HOOK, NO. 12
