Vintage 1956

"Tempt your crochet hook with this lovely doily in embossed filet. First make the doily, then the dogwood blossoms - sewing them in place to complete this handsome centerpiece. (A wonderful doily to enter in the County Fair competition)!"

Description

Doily: This pattern gives directions to create the doily pictured. First, the filet crochet design is worked, and then the large and small flowers are made and stitched to the doily. Interestingly enough, actual size is not stated, however, based on the chart, I'd say at 15" or up. Note: Chart was folded in half at center for copying; meaning there is a small gap between right and left sides.

This is a Mail Order Pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs. This pattern was marketed as Anne Cabot 5662 in 1956.  This design was included in the Anne Cabot 1958 Needlework Album
