Crocheted Doilies Luncheon Set Alice Brooks 6847

Crocheted Doilies:  These three crocheted doilies can be made either of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. The choice of cotton governs the size and texture. They can be used to form buffet and luncheon sets or they can be used as odd doilies.     Crochet these doilies in 3 sizes each.  The small doilies are 4-1/2 or 6 inches; the medium doilies are 9 or 12 inches and the large doilies are 13 or 18 inches in diameter each. 

This is a Mail Order Design Pattern purchased through newspapers.  The pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 6847 in 1940.  

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 9 steel crochet hook or No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton in (150 yard) balls and a No. 10 steel crochet hook.   The large doily requires approximately 240 yards of heavy cotton or 192 yards of fine cotton;   The medium sized doily requires approximately 110 yards of heavy cotton or 90 yards of fine cotton;   The small doily requires approximately 32 yards of heavy cotton or 28 yards of fine cotton.
