Crochet Ruffled Daisy Doily Pattern, Mail Order 888

Crocheted Doily:  This pattern gives directions to crochet the doily pictured.  This doily features a daisy in the center, framed in a frilly ruffle of chain-loops. It is quickly and easily made; takes little time and/or thread. Fine gift or bazaar item.   The finished doily measures approx. 10 inches in diameter. 

This is a Mail Order pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Martha Madison 888.  The newspaper description:  "Crochet a dainty frilly doily with a daisy center at 10 inches. Quickly and easily made".  This pattern was included in the 1962 Little Catalog of Just Doilies.  

Material: About 150 yards #20 Crochet Cotton. Use a #9 steel crochet-hook.
