Crochet Potholders Pattern, Flower Basket, Laura Wheeler 2645

Crocheted Potholders:   These two potholders, made in the shape of flower baskets, are made of four strands of Crochet and Knitting Cotton worked together. The designs are worked entirely in single crochet. They can be made either of unbleached and a color; two contrasting colors or of two shades of the same color.   The potholders are approx. 6 x 6 inches. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 2645.  The newspaper description:  "Here's a gift acceptable to every housewife - a decoration in any kitchen - inexpensive to make. These potholders are crocheted of four strands of string in white and the color of the kitchen".

Materials: Unbleached and red Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a No 0 steel crochet;   The first style potholder requires approximately 100 yards of red and 80 yards of unbleached;   The second style potholder requires approximately 110 yards of red and 75 yards of unbleached.
