Handkerchief Edgings: This pattern gives directions to crochet the inserts and edgings pictured. There are four different combinations of edgings and insertions worked, for flower varieties, in colored threads. The inserts measures approx. 4 inches, the actual size of each edging in not stated -- but definitely narrow!
This is a Mail Order pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs. The pattern was marketed as Carol Curtis No 449 in 1952. The newspaper description: "Unusually effects can be obtained on fine linen pastel hankies , blouses, guest towels, by using colored tatting crochet thread when making the crochet inserts and edgings. All four off the inserts measure about 4 inches square".
