Crocheted Medallion: This pattern gives instructions to crochet the medallion pictured. This crocheted medallion can either be made of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. When joined together the medallions form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs, pillows and other household articles. Depending upon materials chosen, medallion will measure 5 1/2 or 7 inches diagonally.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs. This pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 735 in 1967.   The was a popular pattern, being released under several other pattern numbers. 

Materials:  Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 9 steel crochet hook;   or No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton in (150 yard) balls and a No. 10 steel crochet hook.   Each medallion requires approximately 50 yards of heavy cotton or 55 yards of fine cotton. One skein of cotton is required for fringe.
