Description

Crochet Baby Sweater with Cap & Bonnet:  This pattern gives directions to crochet the baby set pictured.   The pattern consists of a baby sweater, size 1, with a matching bonnet, with ruffle, for girls and a helmet styled cap for boys.  This is an easy project in afghan stitch. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Anne Cabot 2155 in 1957.   It appear in Anne Cabot's Needlework Album for the years of 1963, 1968 and 1975.  

Materials:  3 2-0z. skeins Sport Yarn (Sweater and one hat) Boye afghan hooks, Nos. 4 and 5. Boye steel crochet hook No. 1 1 yd. ribbon, 1 in. wide (for girl's hat). 8 small pearl buttons for sweater. 2 small buttons for boy's hat. 1 yd. grosgrain ribbon 1 in. wide.
