Cobweb Medallion Crochet Pattern for Cloths Design 2870

Cobweb Medallion : This crochet medallion can be made either of Mercerized Crochet Cotton and Knitting Cotton or of No 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. When joined together the medallions form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs, pillows and other household accessories. The pattern includes directions for fringe for a bedspread and a picot edging for other articles. The medallions can be worked at 5 1/2 or 4 inches.

This is a Mail Order Design Pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs. This pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 2870 in 1941. "Beautiful heirloom accessories can be yours for little effort, for this simple easy to crochet medallion, Cobweb, joins into a striking all-over design that's lovely for a cloth, spread or scarf". 

Materials:

• Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 8 steel crochet hook
• or No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 10 steel crochet hook.
• Each medallion requires approximately 21 yards of heavy cotton or 16 yards of fine cotton. 1 skein of cotton is required for fringe.
