Description

Crocheted Doilies: These crocheted doilies, worked in pineapple design can be made either of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton or of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton. The choice of the cotton governs the size and texture of the doilies. The doilies, depending upon materials used, will be 19 and 30 inches for the large doily, or 13 and 17 inches in diameter for the small doily. The difference between the large and small doilies is the inner ring of pineapples.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs. The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 883 in 1944.

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS:   No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton in (150 yard) balls and a No. 10 steel crochet hook or Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 8 steel crochet hook.   The large doily requires approximately 750 yards of heavy cotton or 570 yards of fine cotton.   The small doily requires approximately 300 yards of heavy cotton or 225 yards of fine cotton.
