Squares

Although not in the realm of crochet squares, the Mail Order brands did market a fair number of filet crochet squares.   Most of these designs were from the Reader Mail brand of Alice Brooks, American Weekly, and Laura Wheeler.  And, as was consistent with this brand, the pattern gave two to three sizes or each design.  These delicate designs primarily featuring flowers, birds and butterflies.  The square, larger than motifs, typical range in size of a small 4" and up.  They are used to create cloths, spreads, runners ... household items of your choice.
