Honeycomb Jacket : This pattern contains instructions to knit, with crochet detail, the short jacket pictured above. A free swinging bolero - it is a pretty pattern inspired by the honeycomb of a bee. Striped front is knitted lengthwise; back is done in the usual way. Cuffed sleeves at at elbow. The vintage 1950s pattern from McCalls is sized 12 to 16. Instructions are for size 12, with changes for 14 and 16 shown in parentheses.
MATERALS:
- - Bear Brand or Fleisher's "Jiffy" Nylon 'n Wool, 4 (4-5) 2-oz.
- skeins white (W); 1 skein each of black (B), gray (G) and red (R) for stripes.
- - Plastic knitting needles No. 10. (Or English size 3.)
- - Plastic crochet hook No.6.
GAUGE: 15 sts=4"; 34 rows=4" (pat).
