Filet Crochet Chair Set:   This pattern contains directions for making a filet crocheted chair set made of No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. The chair set can also be used as a buffet set or the chair back can be used as ends for scarfs. Included in the pattern is a filet chart for the chair back and arm rest also directions describing how the charts are to be used.  The chair back will measure 13 x 16-1/2 and the arm rests are 7 x 12 inches. 

Note:  The chair back chart has some wrinkling, but is workable.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  This pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 571 in 1943.  The official newspaper description:  "Lilacs for Spring - caught for you in the lovely filet crochet design that serves equally well as chair or buffet set, done in fine cotton.Everyone will admire it and praise your handiwork".


  • No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton in (175 yard) balls and a No. 12 steel crochet hook.
  • 7 (175 yard) balls will make a chair set or two scarf ends.
