Jiffy Crochet Scarf:  This crocheted design worked in heavy cotton can be made very quickly. The pattern contains directions for making a scarf 12 x 36 inches and a mat 12 x 17 inches. The pieces can be used separately or they can be used to form a luncheon set.

This is a Mail Order Designs pattern, purchased through newspapers.  This pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 2812 in 1941.  "Proudly set your table with this easily crocheted luncheon set done in a simple mesh with dotted flowers.  It's Jiffy Crocheted in two strands of string.  Get started!"


  • Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins  (Each mat requires approximately 350 yards of cotton; the scarf requires approximately 650 yards of cotton)
  • No. 2 steel crochet hook.
