Crochet Pineapple Runner Mats Pattern, Alice Brooks 7006

Crocheted Scarf : This pattern contains directions to crochet the scarf pictured. Although titled a jiffy scarf, the instructions are rather extensive, so I'd suggest this is an intermediate to advanced pattern. The scarf, or runner, should you prefer, is a simple yet quite pleasing design. It is oblong and features dual mesh blocks running through the center, surrounded by full rows of pineapples. The scarf will measure either 16 x 32 or 16 x 29; the mats are 14 x 16 inches.

This is a mail order pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs. This pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 7006 (as well as American Weekly 3052).  The newspaper description:   "Beginner's crochet, but the finished product has a prize winning air to it. You can always find plenty of uses for scarves and mats. Ideal pickup work and so easy to crochet".
