Description

Crocheted Doilies: This pattern contains directions for making two oval pineapple crocheted doilies. They can be made either of Mercerized Crochet Cotton or of No 30 Mercerrized Crochet Cotton. The choice of cotton governs the size and texture. They can be used as luncheon sets or as odd doilies. The large doilies are 25 x 35 or 18 x 27 and the small doilies are 16 x 24 or 13 x 18 inches.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 840 in 1967.   It was also marketed under the Alice Brooks brand.  

Materials:   Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 8 steel crochet hook or No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 10 steel crochet hook.   The large doily requires approximately 525 yards of heavy cotton or 363 yards of fine cotton.   The small doily requires approximately 395 yards of heavy cotton or 275 yards of fine cotton.
