Description
Silver Peplum Blouse : This pattern contains instructions to knit the blouse shown. This design, vintage 1948 calls for materials that may prove a challenge to substitute, but what a lovely pattern. Originally calling for a lame yarn, the pattern stitch and end result is quite delicate with a sheer effect. The blouse, with extended shoulders, has a high round neckline, small button front closure and s gathered waist that leads into a full peplum. The pattern is written for misses size 12, with changes for 14 and 16 in parentheses.
Materials:
- Hiawatha 3-Ply Lame Yarn Art. 74, 13 (14,14) tubes.
- Needles: 1 pr. each No. 2 and No. 5.
- Hiawatha Elastic Knitting Yarn of Lastex Art. 76, 1 spool.
- 11 small buttons,
- 3 yds. horsehair braid 2 ½" wide (for peplum).
GAUGE: 13 st = 2" (pattern stitch).
