Knitted Butterfly Bedspread Squares, Design 703

Knitted Afghan:  This pattern contains directions for a knitted afghan made of 10-inch squares. Join either all butterfly squares or alternate with plain blocks. Odds and ends of wool may be used for butterflies in varied colors; or make all butterflies in the same combination of colors. Use white or black for background.  The squares measure 10 inches each. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 703 in 1974.    The square was also released as an afghan pattern under the Alice Brooks brand.
