Italian Rose Filet Crochet Bedspread Pattern

Italian Filet Bedspread : This vintage 1951 pattern contains directions to crochet the spread pictured. This bedspread is worked in Italian Filet Crochet with a lovely antique styled rose motif and roosters. Yep, I said roosters. Now what the two have in common with the Italian design, I have no idea. I do know, however, this it's quite a lovely piece. The pattern gives directions for making either a single or a double bed. Charts are included for the rose and rooster filet, as well as the interesting stitch work at the edges.  

Materials:  Bucilla Petite Wondersheen, 35 skeins for double-bed size (77" x 85"); 29 skeins for single-bed size (65" x 85");   steel crochet hook No. 11.
