Irish Crocheted Baby Cap Pattern Heirloom 1920s

Irish Crochet Baby Cap: This pattern gives directions to create the cap shown. This baby cap is an heirloom in the making; perfect for Christening or other very special events. The design, vintage 1920's from Anna Wuerfel Brown, starts with a sewn fabric hat. The crochet work is shaped and sewn to cap, with individual parts created separately. This pattern is written old style; the definition sheet is included.

Material – Art. 805, Kloster Cordonnet Special,1 ball, size 100, for motifs and for Clones knot, picot and Venetian fillings; 1 ball, size 150, for the fine loop filling; 1 ball, size 10, for padding cord.  As fine a hook as can be used without splitting the thread;   A good paper pattern with a round crown.
