Product Description
Eight Point Star Centerpiece: This pattern gives directions to crochet the doily pictured. This 8-pointed star has distinctive frill-cup at center in which to place a vase or lamp. A pair of these doilies make lovely settings for candlesticks or statuettes on the piano, or as a part of the table decor for a special occasion.
This is a Mail Order pattern, purchased through newspapers. This pattern was marketed as No 5916, in the Anne Cabot number series.
MATERIALS: 2 Balls (250 yds. per ball) of #30 Six-cord mercerized Crochet Cotton and a #10 Steel Crochet Hook, will make a centerpiece measuring about 12 inches in diameter, with a 3 to 4-inch frill-cup at the center (frill stands about 1 1/2 high). Should you desire larger doily than this, use heavier thread and work with a larger hook; for smaller and more dainty doily, use #40 or #50 thread and work with #12 or #14 hook. This doily requires about 350 yards of thread.
