Crocheted Square: This crocheted square can either be made of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. When joined together the squares form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs, pillows and mats. The edging on the scarfs and mats is added after the squares are joined together. The completed square measures 6 x 6 inches.
This is a Mail Order Design pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs. This pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 784. "Just one square to learn and you can make so many accessories. - Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 9 steel crochet hook

Each square requires approximately 50 yards of heavy cotton or 35 yards of fine cotton.
