Crochet Star of the Morning Medallion, Laura Wheeler 850

Star of the Morning Crocheted Medallion:    This pattern gives directions to crochet the medallion pictured.  This crocheted medallion can either be made of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. When joined together the medallions form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs, pillows, chair sets and buffet sets.  The medallion may be crocheted at 3-3/4 or 5-1/2 inches.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 850 in 1948.  The pattern was previously marketed by Laura Wheeler as well.  The square was also included in the 1952 Laura Wheeler Designs catalog.  

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS:   Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a No. 8 steel crochet hook, or No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 12 steel crochet hook.   Each medallion requires approximately 40 yards of heavy cotton or 26 yards of fine cotton.
