Description

Crocheted Wedding Shoes:   This pattern contains directions to crochet the potholders pictured.  "The bride and groom's very own little sport shoes to be crocheted in ivory or white with black and red trim. Any way you look at them, they're cute. Same on both sides,they are reversible which makes for longer wear and a quicker hang-up after using. Practical in size – "His"- 6 x 7-1/2 inches, "Hers"-5 x 7 These holders were designed for use, and are not just something to be admired, tucked away and forgotten".   This vintage 1938 pattern refers to the technique as Cameo Crochet.  Instructions tips are included.   

This is a Mail Order pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs.   This pattern was marketed as Needlework Bureau and Martha Madison E-1173.  

Materials:  Lt. Weight cotton or candlewick yarn---about 60 yds of white or ivory; 30 yds of red and 30 yds of black--will be needed;   Use a #3 steel crochet hook;   Two bone rings.
