Description
Crocheted Square: This crocheted square worked in the pineapple design can be made either of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton or of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton. When joined together the squares form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs and other household articles. Crocheted in heavy cotton the square can be used as a pillow top or a doily. This square may be crocheted at 12 or 16 inches.
This is a Mail Order pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements. It was marketed as No 3080. The 1946 newspaper description: "Use these lovely crochet squares singly or join 20 of them together for a 64 x 80 inch cloth in string".
MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 12 steel crochet hook or Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a No. 8 steel crochet hook. Each square requires approximately 250 yards of fine cotton or 324 yards of heavy cotton.
