Crochet Openwork T-Shirt, Mail Order 5889

Crocheted Open-Work T-Shirt:  This pattern gives directions to crochet the top pictured.  The design, worked in double crochet and V-stitch with No 30 Crochet Cotton, features a lovely star motif design.  It is short sleeved with lightly scalloped edges and below hip length.  The pattern is sized small (8-10), medium (12-14), and large (16-18).  

This is a Mail Order pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Anne Cabot 5889 between 1980 and 1983.  

MATERIALS:   J. & P. COATS "KNIT-CRO-SHEEN" Mercerized Cotton, Art. A.64: 8 (10, 12) balls (250 yards each) of Ecru;  NEEDLE: Steel Crochet Hook, No. 1, (0...zero, 00.. double zero).   NOTE: Use 2 strands held together throughout.
