Description

Crocheted Medallion:  These crocheted medallions are to be made of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. When joined together the medallions form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs, pillows, and many other household articles.   When completed, the small motif is 2-1/2 inches and the large motif is 6 inches.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 1685. 

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 8 steel crochet hook or No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 12 steel crochet hook.  Each large medallion requires approximately 35 yards of heavy cotton or 23 yards of fine cotton; each small medallion requires approximately 6 yards of heavy cotton or 3 yards of fine cotton.
