Description

Crocheted Hat and Purse: This pattern contains directions for making a crocheted hat and a matching purse made of either Knitting Worsted or Straw Material. Crocheted flowers trim the hat and purse. Worked in a very easy stitch the set can be worked in black or any bright colored yarn. Directions are given for hat in a 22-inch head size.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 718 in 1943.

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: 3 (3-3/4 ounce) skeins of green Knitting Worsted or 6 (100 yard) skeins of green Straw Material, a No. 6 bone crochet hook, 1/2 yard each of crinoline and lining material and two hat pins. If only the hat is being made 1 (3-3/4 ounce) skein of Knitting Worsted or 2 (190 yard) skeins of Straw Material, a No. 6 bone crochet hook and two hat pins are required.
