This dainty, lacy square; worked in petal stitches is simple to make, when joined together the squares form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs, pillows and other articles.
This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs. The pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 7216. The newspaper description: "Dainty and easy to crochet this petal square! There's no limit to the articles - large and small - that you can make by joining squares. A gift for a bride, a decoration for your own home - a scarf of these lovely crocheted squares".
MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a No. 8 steel crochet hook or No. 30 Mercerized Crochet cotton and a No. 10 steel Crochet hook. Each square requires approximately 85 yards of heavy cotton or 65 yards of No. 30 cotton.
