Cardigan Knitting Pattern with Slit Pockets

Knitted Cardigan: This pattern contains directions for knitting the cardigan pictured. A simple and attractive design, the straight edged cardigan has long sleeves, a small notched collar and front button band worked in seed stitches. There is a slit pocket, with contrast trim on each front lower panel; the cardigan is hip length. The design is written for misses size 12, with changes for 14, 16 and 18 in parentheses.

Materials:

• AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "DAWN" KNITTING WORSTED 20 (21, 23, 25) ounces Cocoa or Beige. 2 (2, 2, 2) ounces Black or colors of your choice.
• Knitting Needles: 1 pair each No. 6 and No. 8 or any size needle which will result in stitch gauge below.
• 1 ½ yds-1 inch grosgrain ribbon.
• 3/4 yd.-1 inch grosgrain ribbon.
• Buttons as required.

Gauge: 5 sts = 1 inch. 7 rows = 1 inch.
