Description

Filet Crocheted Squares: This pattern gives directions to create the squares pictured. The official description: "These two filet designs – the one a butterfly and the other floral – are to be worked in string or in fine crochet cotton. They may be combined to form bedspreads, teacloths, scarfs or pillows; each design may be used alone if desired. The pattern includes a chart of each square.   NOTE:  The charts are shaded in a couple areas, but are usable. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 7549 in both 1943 and 1980.  It was previously marketed under the Laura Wheeler brand.

Material Requirements:   Unbleached crochet and knitting cotton in (800 yard) skeins and a No 7 steel crochet hook;   Or, No 50 Mercerized crochet cotton and a No 12 steel crochet hook
