Knitted Beret : This pattern contains directions to knit the hat pictured. The design is referred to as a beret. I'm not quite sure that's the correct style, an attractive hat it is. Fitting a bit lower on the head than a pillbox, this design has a slightly pleated back that is nicely bowed. The pattern is one size.
This is a Mail Order Pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs. This pattern was marketed as Anne Cabot 5291. The newspaper description: "So in fashion - a flattering beret in knit that gives the appearance of being white mink. An ideal topper for this season's costumes".
