Biarritz: This pattern contains directions to crochet the rug shown. Vintage 1950, American Thread named this pattern Biarritz. Now, why is a great question --- Biarritz is a city in France; perhaps the design is perfect for French decor ! The design, worked in heavy rug yarn, is made up of blocks using two colors. The center block motif is white, with a darker contrast for the borders. A central motif is embroidered in the center of each block with the border color. A chart is included for the cross stitch embroidery. When completed, it will measure 22 x 33 inches.
