Argyle Jerkin : This pattern contains instructions for knitting, crochet detail, the garment shown. The design of this 1942 WWII era pattern was called a jerkin ( close fitting sleeveless jacket). Now it would more readily be termed a sleeveless vest, or perhaps a pullover vest. Whatever you want to call it, it's a nice garment that is sure to be both comfortable and unique. Knit in 4 colors of Shetland in a diamond motif both front and back. It has a scooped neckline, waistband and is hip length. The pattern is misses size 34 only.
Materials:
- 4 oz. Natural Shetland. 2 oz. each of Red and Blue.
- 1 oz. each of Navy and White.
- Knitting needles, 1 pr. #3 and pr. #1.
- A steel crochet hook #1. 12 buttons.
Gauge: 7 sts. make 1 inch; 10 rows make 1 inch.
