Crochet Rug:   These crocheted rugs are made in a combination of Rug Cotton and rags. The background is worked in slipper stitch using white Rug Cotton. The flowers are made of vari-colored rags with white Rug Cotton centers; if desired the flowers can also be made entirely of Rug Cotton. Included in the pattern are charts and directions for three different size rugs.   There are three layouts given for different styles.  

This is a Mail Order Design pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  This pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 7536 in 1943.  "Here's a new use for leftover fabric remenants! Collect all the most colorful fabric scraps and crochet them into flower medallions for this attractive rug. Make the rest of it in inexpensive rug cotton. A charming idea for bedroom, bathroom, or to use as a summer scatter style"
