Crochet Hexagon Fern Medallion Pattern No 7279


Crocheted Medallion:  This pattern contains directions for a crocheted hexagon worked in a petal stitch, The medallions can be joined to form flowery bedspreads, tablecloths, scarfs and other household articles. These lovely medallions can be made in fine. or heavy cotton; the choice of the cotton determines the size of medallion.  Depending upon material chosen, the medallions will measure 12-1/2 or 19 inches.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  This pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 7279 in 1946.  "Exquisite hexagon medallions even a beginner can crochet.  When joined, they form flowery spreads, cloths, scarfs.  Very lovely; just as useful". 


  • No 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No 10 steel crochet hook
  • Or Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a No 9 steel crochet hook
  • Each medallion requires approximately 90 yards of No. 30 cotton or 123 yards of heavy cotton.
