Knitted Shift : This pattern contains directions for making a knitted shift, with or without sleeves, in Sport Yarn, Orlon Sayelle or Wintuk. Crocheted pompons are joined to form a decorative necklace or belt. The interesting diamond border can be embroidered if desired. Included in the pattern are sizes 32-34 and 36-38.

This pattern is Laura Wheeler 802.  The pattern was included in the 1966 Needlecraft Patterns catalog.   The newspaper description: "Be well dressed with smart 'Knit Shift' with or without sleeves and necklace or belt. Easy to knit in stockinette stitch. Leave diamonds lacy or embroider in gay colors".
